Midwife myths debunked: understanding the alternative way

MYTH: Having a midwife attended birth means having your baby at home.

TRUTH: Midwives can, and do, attend homebirths. Midwives also work in birth centres and hospitals.

MYTH: Midwifery care is expensive.

TRUTH: In Ontario, midwifery is covered by OHIP.

MYTH: I would like to have both a midwife and a doctor at my birth.
