A Letter to My Body

Wisdom from our beloved client and Guest Blogger Katie Williams - thank you Katie for your open heart.

Dear Body, . Over the years, we have had a rocky relationship. I have judged you. I have mistreated you. I have abused you. I have taken you for granted. . As 2019 comes to a close, I find myself reflecting upon the lifetime of pressure that I put on you. And you just took it. . I pushed you to the limit. I deprived you of things that you need to thrive. I spoke shamefully negatively to you for as long as I can remember. . And yet, you don’t quit. You gave me a son. And you still kept going. You gave me a daughter, which was much harder, but you still kept going. Together we lost a son, and yet you managed to pick my soul up off the floor, and keep us going. And then, together, we clawed our way across the finish line, worn and torn, when you gave me another son. Body...You are the most loyal part of my life. Through thick and through thin, you are here, you have kept me going, you have never quit. . I finally see that there is no one else like you. You are amazing. You are beautiful. And I promise to shift my mindset to truly see the beauty in the changes you’ve endured over this lifetime together. . I love you, Body. Thank you for all that you’ve given me. I am sorry that I didn’t say that sooner. .

Look yourself in the eye and give yourself a hug. No matter how your child bearing experiences have been - you are a warrior and your body is something to be proud of.

. And partners? Tell her she’s beautiful. ❤️
