April is Cesarean Awareness Month. Initiated by The International Cesarean Awareness Network (ICAN), their mission is “to improve maternal-child health by preventing unnecessary cesareans through education, providing support for cesarean recovery, and promoting Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC).
"Birth matters whether you have a vaginal birth or a belly birth. Support is crucial for mental health, recovery, and long term well being for mom and family."
As Doulas our wish for all who have given birth is for a positive experience; it's why we do what we do. Sometimes it's a journey to get there, emotional scars run deeper than physical ones, but our hope is that you will see your scar as a jewel to cherish, a badge of honour, a journey you walked through and came out of with pride. Through it, we will support and walk beside you because when we say birth matters, what we mean is that YOU matter.
